Is the consultation really free?
Yes. 15 minutes, no charge and no obligation. If you decide to proceed, the fixed fee is confirmed in writing first, and nothing is charged until you accept the engagement.
Will you tell me what my business is worth on the call?
No. A value comes from the records and the analysis set out in a report, and the report is what can be relied on and tested. The call is about which report fits, what it relies on and what it costs.
Can my lawyer or accountant join the call?
Yes, and it often saves a second conversation. Tell us in the request who will be on the call and, if you prefer, ask your adviser to make the request.
What should I have ready?
A sentence on what the business does, how it is owned (company, trust, partnership or sole trader) and roughly what it turns over, plus what the valuation is for. No documents are needed for the call.
Do you need the other party's name for the consultation?
Not for the call, which stays with the business and the report options. The conflict check needs the other party's name and, if known, their solicitor before your matter is discussed in detail; the confidential enquiry form asks for it.
Does the call replace the enquiry form?
No. The confidential enquiry form collects what the conflict check and scope review need. Many people talk first and enquire after; others enquire first and use the call to settle a question. Either order works.
